David Gilmour, best known as the voice and guitar of Pink Floyd, has announced that he will perform live in the UK and Europe in September 2015 to coincide with the release of his, as yet untitled, fourth solo studio album

on 04 Mar

David Gilmour has not toured or released a solo album since his 2006 platinum selling album ‘On An Island’; a global smash hit record that immediately shot to the top of the Official UK Album Chart. Tickets go on sale for all venues at 10:00am GMT | 11:00am CET on Friday 6 March 2015.

Kicking off at the historic Roman amphitheatre – Arena Pula, Croatia on 12 September, the tour will continue through some of the world’s most beautiful cities and venues. It then visits Verona’s amphitheatre, the Verona Arena on 14 September and the Teatro Le Mulina in Florence, Italy on September 15. Moving to France it continues on 17 September in Orange at the Roman amphitheatre Theatre Antique d’Orange, before Germany’s Oberhausen Konig-Pilsener-Arena on 19 September and finally three consecutive nights at London’s world famous Royal Albert Hall on 23, 24 and 25 September.

David Gilmour returned to the top of the album charts last year with the release of Pink Floyd’s final album ‘The Endless River’, their first in 20 years. The album achieved platinum status around the world and hit headlines breaking the record as the most pre-ordered album on Amazon.co.uk, as well as then becoming the fastest selling vinyl album of the year.
