Described by Rolling Stone Magazine as “the biggest discovery of Primavera Sound Barcelona,” Cari Cari is made up of Stephanie Widmer (vocals, drums, didgeridoo) and Alexander Köck (vocals, guitars). Their music blends the raw, bluesy grit of acts like The Kills and Cat Power with the sultry minimalism of The xx and the sweeping cinematic drama of Ennio Morricone. Their sound is bold and immersive, yet intimate and emotionally resonant — a sonic universe entirely of their own making.
After living and working in creative hubs like London, Hamburg and Madrid, the duo released their debut album Anaana in 2018 to widespread acclaim from the likes of NME and BBC Radio 1 while racking up millions of streams. The album’s success launched them onto stages across Europe, where they quickly built a devoted fanbase, selling out venues and earning a reputation for their magnetic live shows.
