Artist description
OneRepublic is an American pop rock band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Formed in 2002 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, the band achieved massive success on MySpace as an unsigned act. The band signed with Mosley Music Group in 2006, and released its debut album, Dreaming Out Loud in 2007.
OneRepublic made radio history when with its first single, "Apologize", received the largest amount of airplay with 10,331 plays in one week, the record only being broken by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love", a song Tedder co-wrote. The remix version, featured on Timbaland's album Shock Value was a smash hit internationally, reaching number one in sixteen countries and gaining 10 million downloads, subsequently earning them a Grammy Award nomination. The band also achieved national success with its second single, "Stop and Stare". Dreaming Out Loud was certified platinum in the United States, and gold in Austria, Australia and Canada.
The band's second album, Waking Up, was released on November 17, 2009. The lead single from the album, "All the Right Moves", charted in the top 10 in Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album include "Secrets", "Marchin On", and "Good Life".
OneRepublic's third album, Native, was released on March 26, 2013 to mostly positive reviews from music critics. It became the bands highest charting album to date, as well as their first top 10 album, debuting at no. 4 on the Billboard 200. It sold 60,000 copies within it's first week. Its promotional single, "Feel Again", was released on August 27 2012, and was certified platinum. The official worldwide lead single titled "If I Lose Myself" was released on January 8, 2013, charting within the top 10 in several countries, including Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. It also peaked at no. 18 in New Zealand and at no. 34 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart. The album's third single "Counting Stars" was released on June 14 2013.
