Artist description

Rade Šerbedžija is a Croatian movie, television and theatre actor as well as a poet and musician.


Despite the fact he already acted in some eighty Yugoslavian or ex-Yugoslavian movies, his breakthrough to the world scene he earned with his act in the movie “Hanin rat” and “Prije kiše” by Milča Mančevski. In 1996, Šerbedžija had the role of the father of a refugee in the movie “Belma” and in the New Zealand movie “Broken English”. After that followed roles in leading Hollywood movies “Space cowboys”, “Mission Impossible”, “Snatch”, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” and others.


Šerbedžija is also known for his poetry reading and theatre plays. He started the new Ullysses theatre in Pula which had its premiere with the play King Lear on Brijuni under the production of his wife Lenka.


He is the winner of many awards.
